I wanted to share some information and images of different types of writing. One that I find most interesting is this stone tablet from the Middle Assyrian period of Mesopotamia. The tablet was made during the reign of King Tukulti-Ninurta I, ca. 1243 B.C. -1207 B.C. The writing found on this tablet is what is known as cuneiform, a wedge shape system, which was used for over three thousand years.

No matter the medium on which we write, communication has always played a vital role in how we record the events in our lives and the stories we leave to our future generations. Technology has changed the way we write, how we communicate, but no matter if we were to write on stone, papyrus or parchment, we use a tool to express our message. Technology has given us faster ways to communicate, whether by phone, computer or video messages, we can stay in touch, create, write and communicate better than before.
I have fought the urge or desire to become dependent on technology because of the differences in how I grew up writing and communicating. More and more as I use technology, such as this blog, I am finding that it does make it easier and faster to accomplish my goals.
Today I am learning to embrace the new and respect the history of technology and look forward to the changes that will come.
